The birthing center nurses at Advocate Condell Medical Center are specially trained to support breastfeeding mothers. The hospital reports that nearly 100 percent of mothers successfully initiate breastfeeding while in the hospital.

Should your baby need more specialized care, Advocate Condell is backed by the resources of Advocate Children’s Hospital, which offers the highest level of neonatal and pediatric care available in the Chicago area.
Pre-labor care: The antepartum area accommodates expectant mothers who require additional observation prior to delivery.
Nurses with certification in neonatal resuscitation: All birthing center nurses are certified in the AAP/AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program and are present at your delivery to provide your baby with expert care.
Monitoring: All obstetric nurses are experts in electronic fetal monitoring in order to carefully monitor both you and your baby during labor and delivery.
Nursing ratios: The hospital reports that nurse-to-patient ratios follow the standards set by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
Specialist care: Board-certified obstetricians, neonatalogists and pediatric hospitalists are present 24/7 to care for you. Perinatologists (specialists in high-risk pregnancies) are available to consult with your physician if needed.7
